We are seeking ambitious, creative, communicative go-getter for a full-time Community Coordinator position at Catholic Charities of Fulton and Montgomery Counties. Candidate will be working in identified locations within Fulton, Montgomery and Hamilton Counties to engage people in conversations about tobacco programming and policies. We work in identified locations but also with other coordinators around the state and city of NY. This is not an anti-smoker program. A goal is to foster supportive environments and individuals who can help prevent or reduce tobacco use, and implement community norms that support tobacco free communities.
Candidate must have creativity, willingness to learn, be trainable, and have some experience working with a variety of people in community and/ or business settings. Candidate must be able to actively communicate with a variety of individuals, and seek assistance when needed.
As the Program Coordinator - Community Engagement (ATFC) , you will play a pivotal role in individuals' lives, making a significant impact through:
Engage, build and maintain relationships with local residents, businesses, elected officials, and organizations (i.e., local coalitions, hospitals, chamber of commerce, elected officials, business executives, etc.) to participate in Advancing Tobacco Free Community (ATFC) efforts.
Oversee and ensure identified work plan goals and deliverables are being met in a timely fashion and meeting the minimum requirements of the grant.
Implement actions to reduce the impact of retail tobacco marketing on youth, promote smoke-free policies and/or local laws regarding multi-unit housing, tobacco-free outdoors, point of sale, municipalities, parks, playgrounds, beaches and/or entryways.
Disseminate tobacco related information in community venues and at community events, businesses, organizations, people, or other identified locations, in a variety of manners deemed necessary, needed, or appropriate.
Contribute to the science of tobacco control through the collection of evaluation data from adults in the catchment area.
Build and maintain an effective tobacco program infrastructure through the participation of all sustainability efforts requested or required.
Participate in all CCFMC or Youth Service Team meetings or trainings as deemed mandatory or appropriate by Program Director.
Reality Check Lead Minimum Salary: $ 51,054 annually
Reality Check Lead Maximum Salary: $ 51,054 annually
Reality Check Lead Schedule: 35 hours/week
Monday - Friday: primarily 8 AM - 3:30 PM
Occasional overnights and mandatory trainings/meetings with moderate travel
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Health, Community Organization, Education, Social Work or a related field
Experience working with adults and/or communities• Knowledge and Experience working in the Tobacco Control Field (advocacy or health education)

MUST have valid Driver's License
