Cloud Data Solution Architect
Location: Netherlands (Hybrid)
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Cloud Data Solution Architect to accelerate the growth of our strategic cloud practice. In this role, you will collaborate with our most important cloud partners, lead solution architecture engagements, and help shape large-scale, transformational cloud data initiatives across industries.

Your Responsibilities
Lead joint solution and offering architecture discussions with partner architects and stakeholders.
Craft and defend cloud data platform architectures for proactive and reactive proposal responses.
Drive end‑to‑end turnkey proposals for data platforms, analytics, cost summaries, and value propositions.
Translate customer requirements into actionable visions, strategies, and roadmaps covering multi‑cloud data platforms, cloud data warehouses, and modernization initiatives.
Independently lead client design workshops, presenting trade-offs and architectural recommendations.
Contribute to Cognizant’s Data community by creating reusable assets and thought leadership.
Requirements
Certified Solution Architect on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Strong understanding of PaaS services related to Data, Analytics, and API endpoints (e.g., EMR, Dataproc, Databricks).
Ability to compare and evaluate technology components across layers (e.g., streaming, messaging, search).
Broad understanding of partner/alternative technologies such as Snowflake, Cloudera, Talend, Informatica, Confluent.
What You Bring
Excellent consulting, communication, facilitation, and influencing skills.
Strong capability in driving architectural decisions, engineering best practices, and complex solution design.
Deep understanding of complete data ecosystems:
data layers and their purpose
serverless compute
ETL vs. Spark runtime differences
authentication, authorization, encryption, certificates
data migration strategy and tooling
metadata management and catalogs
Experience presenting to senior stakeholders including business leaders, enterprise architects, and technical leads.
Ability to create polished PowerPoint presentations and executive-level readouts.
Key Experience
- Proven track record in building and defending solution architectures with technical and non-technical stakeholders at multiple levels.
