Saint-Gobain Plant Operator in AMHERST, New York

We’re looking for motivated individuals ready to take on a hands-on role in a dynamic production environment.
Operate Diversified Equipment: Work with a wide range of machinery, including mixing equipment, dryers, milling and crushing equipment, kilns, vacuum hot presses, furnaces, and powder processing equipment.
Ensure Quality & Service: Take pride in manufacturing, inspecting, and packaging products to meet quality standards.
Continuous Rotating Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts—including weekends and holidays—with overtime opportunities based on business needs.
Essential Skills:

Accurately read, understand, and execute work orders.
Operate a fork truck (training provided).
Learn and perform all required duties independently and safely.
Communicate effectively with shift personnel and support all manufacturing processes.
Demonstrate knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality standards for optimal product manufacture and distribution.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer skills required.
Strong communication skills for interacting with co-workers, plant staff, and management.
Basic math, reading, writing, and mechanical skills.
Previous forklift truck certification preferred.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and move items up to 60 pounds (with or without accommodations).
Ability to move throughout all areas of the plant, including climbing stairs and working at heights.
Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment.
Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break.
Visual acuity to perform job functions correctly.

Certain states require pay information to be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ well-being and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the national pay range for this position, which is $25.00-$35.00 per hour. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 5% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position is $54,600 to $76,400 for the 1st shift. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and, by nature, can vary based on company and individual performance, and are not a guarantee.
