Excelsior Orthopaedics Group Per-Diem Imaging Technologist in Amherst, New York

Job Summary
The Imaging Technologist utilizes X-ray equipment to conduct diagnostic imaging procedures for evaluating patient conditions. This role is responsible for independently managing imaging workflow, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring high-quality imaging standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operate computer systems and radiographic equipment to obtain diagnostic images under physician and radiologist supervision
Perform quality control procedures to ensure optimal image quality
Prepare patients for radiographic procedures by assessing needs and providing clear instructions and education
Accurately document procedures and maintain records in the EMR system
Prepare and annotate images for physician or radiologist interpretation
Follow radiation safety standards, including ALARA principles and environment of care guidelines
Maintain and test imaging equipment to ensure proper functionality; document results as required
Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times
Attend required continuing education (CE) courses to maintain NYSDOH licensure and ARRT certification
Participate in OSHA training, staff meetings, and departmental trainings as assigned
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
Requirements and Qualifications
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Radiologic Technology
Current ARRT certification in good standing
Active New York State Radiologic Technologist license
2–3 years of experience preferred (not required)
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Physical Demands
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs (with assistance if needed)
Ability to assist with patient positioning and transfers
Frequent use of computers, phones, and standard office equipment
