Hourly Pay Range: $29.00-$32.00
Shift: Monday-Friday Days
The Dietician is responsible for providing service to individuals receiving services in OPWDD Certified settings who have dietary needs. The dietician will provide teaching regarding special diets after acquiring physicians’ orders for individuals and will also assist and advise staff when necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the nutritional consultation service offered by the Agency and participates in the evaluation of the program.
Implements therapeutic prescriptions and design appropriate dietary regimens for individuals.
Evaluates individual’s compliance with prescribed therapeutic diet and suggests appropriate action to be taken.
Makes visits to those individuals with nutritional problems and counsels individual and/or family/guardian.
Serves as a resource for knowledge in the special field and its implications for Community Health.
Provides dietary supervision and consultation to the staff when indicated, reviews and evaluates nutrition materials for staff use. Participates in individual’s care planning meetings when necessary or at the direction of the Director of Medical Services.
Participates in the orientation of new staff and in-service training off all staff.
Maintains confidentiality of patient and agency information.
Is responsible for completion of required paperwork in a timely manner.
Any other related duties as instructed by the Director of Medical Services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Baccalaureate Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.
Must be a dietician registered by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
Previous experience should include hospital therapeutics, teaching, and/or community health experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
