Packaging Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Packaging Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will work on an automated packaging line to ensure our pasta products meet the highest quality standards. You will perform quality checks, verify barcodes, support line operations, and assist with general production tasks.
Responsibilities
Operate and monitor an automated packaging line to ensure consistent quality.
Pull products from the line and inspect packaging, boxing quality, and label accuracy.
Verify and validate all barcodes for accuracy.
Assist with cleaning responsibilities and breaking down cartons and cases.
Transport cartons and cardboard to the compactor for recycling.
Maintain proper placement and usage of totes in all designated areas.
Provide break coverage for other packaging operators as needed.

Understanding of production, manufacturing, and quality processes

Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
1+ year of experience in production or food manufacturing preferred
Basic computer skills preferred
Mechanical aptitude is a plus
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable standing for the full duration of a shift

Work Environment
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Schedule: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off (rotating)
Fast‑paced production environment requiring extended periods of standing and repetitive motion
Work around automated machinery and packaging equipment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
