Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of maintenance processes and equipment, with a focus on preventative maintenance and electrical systems. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes through effective equipment management.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment used in the manufacturing process.
Install and maintain manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Conduct equipment inspections and troubleshoot any issues.
Perform machine installations, modifications, and fabrications as necessary.
Act as the initial contact for maintenance-related production issues during the second shift.
Essential Skills
Proficient in preventative maintenance and electrical systems.
Strong knowledge of LOTO procedures.
Experience with electrical systems, including 3 Phase, Single Phase, and DC.
Familiarity with mechanical systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical motors with gearing and belt systems.
Capability to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
PLC troubleshooting skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in performing preventative maintenance is a plus.
Background in electrical maintenance is advantageous.

Work Environment
This role is within a smaller, family-owned and operated company that prioritizes both hard work and accommodating personal family matters. The work schedule includes a 1st Shift from 5 AM to 1 PM and a 2nd Shift from 1 PM to 9 PM. The dress code requires steel toe boots, jeans or work pants without holes, and a t-shirt. Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection is provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
