Manufacturing Associate
Position Overview
We are seeking hands‑on, motivated Manufacturing Associate to join our growing production team. In this role, you will operate a variety of electric and pneumatic power tools, assist with fabrication and welding tasks, and work with large industrial machinery in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. No prior experience is required — we will train you.
Key Responsibilities
Operate electric power tools such as circular saws, drills, grinders, and plasma cutters
Use pneumatic tools including riveting guns, drills, grinders, sanders, cut‑off grinders, punches, air hammers, and rivet clinchers
Weld aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel (training provided)
Operate machinery including press brakes, shears, drill presses, band saws, hydraulic iron workers, radial arm saws, hydraulic hoists, and overhead cranes
Perform physically active tasks including crouching, bending, reaching, walking, and standing for up to 10 hours
Lift 10–25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs for approximately two‑thirds of the workday
Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a collaborative team environment
Must‑Have Skills & Abilities
Ability to work with power and pneumatic tools
Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
Ability to read a tape measure
Ability to stand for 10‑hour shifts
Ability to lift 25–50 lbs regularly
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
Fabrication experience
Mechanical repair or troubleshooting skills
Qualifications
No required certifications, education, or prior experience
Willingness to learn welding, fabrication, and tool operation
Strong reliability, work ethic, and eagerness to grow

Work Environment
Indoor manufacturing shop with exposure to moving/mechanical parts
Team size: 120 production employees, typically working in small groups of 2–5
Required attire: steel‑toe/composite boots, jeans, and short‑sleeve shirt minimum
Not permitted: shorts, tank tops, cut‑offs
Company‑provided PPE: hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection
Schedule
Monday–Friday (10‑hour days / 50‑hour weeks):
1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
2nd Shift: 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM
Optional overtime available on Saturdays or by starting early/staying late

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.50/hr.
