MYR Group Barehand Live Line Instructor in Alvarado, Texas
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Barehand Live Line Instructor will safely train employees on transmission line barehand & live line hot stick methods. The Instructor must be experienced in procedure development, safe work methods, understanding of weights, forces, and calculations and is expected to provide trainees with the support they need to learn and excel in the trade.

Essential Functions
Develop, organize, conduct and evaluate the Department of Training's Barehand Live Line Program.
Document training, assess effectiveness and progress, report on progress, and make changes to training as needed.
Teach approved trainings to employees in both classroom and field settings.
Build successful relationships with a diverse group of GSWC employees as they work towards their barehand live line certifications.
Demonstrate proper technique in performing each maneuver being taught
Develop and maintain training manuals
Conduct onsite evaluations of team member skillset and help address areas of needed improvement
Provide real-life context to the theories and situations being taught
Regular and predictable attendance
Other duties as assigned
Essential Functions of this position are to be performed at a company-designated office or field location
Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards, if applicable
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
Must be a certified Journeyman Lineman (minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Journeyman)
Prior experience as a Transmission Journeyman Lineman, live line hot stick procedure experience required
High school diploma
Ability to travel locally/regionally up to 15% of the time
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Advanced knowledge of transmission line construction, advanced in barehand procedures, stringing and tensioning, and working around helicopter assisted operations
Presentation skills, with ability to develop and mentor others
Passion for training and developing others and representing the GSW brand with positivity and professionalism
Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices at all times
Ability to climb poles to demonstrate proper technique
Ability to teach in a classroom lecture setting utilizing PowerPoint and other resources.
Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through GSWC training methods and practices
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Good problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

Salary commensurate with experience, paid weekly.
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
