Registered Nurse (RN) Full-Time Nights - Labor and Delivery (L&D) for Texas Health Alliance

Work hours: Full-time nights, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am
Labor and Delivery Unit Department highlights:
Texas Health Alliance is a Texas 10-step designated facility.
14 LDR Rooms
4 OB/ED bays - with OB Hospitalists 24/7
2 OR suites
Average between 160 deliveries per month and increasing.
24 bed Postpartum/Newborn, couplet care
Level III Maternal designation
Level III NICU
Here's What You Need
Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 Days of hire
NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days of hire Req
NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 Days of hire
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention training maintained annually within 90 days of hire
1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program Req
At least 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
