Job Description: The University of Mount Union in Alliance, OH, is hiring a full-time Payroll Specialist.
Description
Function of Position:
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payrolls for the hourly (bi-weekly), salary (monthly) payrolls and the student payroll (semi-monthly).
Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- [Process monthly and semi-monthly payrolls including collection of all necessary data for input to the colleague system for accurate pay calculations.]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}
- [Providing audit reports for each pay for approval by Payroll Manager.]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}
- [Organizing all aspects of each pay, including Stipends, Benefits, PTO, New Hires and Terminations.]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}
- [Updating all spreadsheets associated with Pay, Vacation, Fringe, and Taxes.]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}
- [Troubleshooting timecard issues and helping Supervisors with these issues.]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}
- [Providing tax information for each pay and recording on tax summary spreadsheet for payment.]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}
- [Run the PTO accrual on a yearly basis and bi-weekly for hourly employees and adjust any employee based on hire date.]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}
- [Run all reports corresponding to each pay and distribute to appropriate personnel.]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}
- [Process all garnishments and child support orders according to court specifications.]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}
- [Complete employment verifications in a timely manner.]{times="" new="" roman",="" times,="" serif"=""}
