Job Title: CNC Press Brake Operator

Job Description

This role operates CNC press brake and hydraulic press machines in a dynamic job shop environment to bend, press, and form metal parts with precision. You will perform machine set-ups and adjustments, read and interpret blueprints, and use precision measuring tools to ensure high-quality production across a wide variety of parts and industries.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC press brake and hydraulic press machines to bend, press, and form metal parts according to specifications.

  • Work in a job shop environment producing a wide range of parts for multiple industries.

  • Perform complete machine set-ups, including selecting and installing tooling and making necessary machine changes.

  • Adjust machine settings and make program edits as needed to achieve accurate bends and forms.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic operational issues on CNC press brake equipment.

  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, and forming requirements.

  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify part dimensions and quality.

  • Perform tool changes efficiently to support frequent changeovers and varied production runs.

  • Maintain consistent production quality and output while following established procedures and standards.

  • Keep work area and equipment clean, organized, and in safe working condition.

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement.

  • Work overtime, including 10- and 12-hour shifts when needed, to support production demands.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3+ years of hands-on CNC brake press operation experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment.

  • Proven experience with operating and setting up press brake machines, including the ability to press, bend, and form parts accurately.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform tool changes and handle basic mechanical troubleshooting on press brake equipment.

  • Consistent job tenure with a history of staying 3+ years per employer.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow detailed specifications.

  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.

  • Capability to work overtime, including 45–50 hour weeks and occasional 10- and 12-hour shifts when required.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.

  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and follow established safety procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience operating Trumpf or Bystronic press brake machines is a strong plus.

  • with other CNC forming or cutting equipment such as CNC laser machines is beneficial.

  • Familiarity with brands such as Amada, Accurpress, and LVD press brakes is advantageous.

  • Experience working with a high mix of parts and frequent changeovers in a job shop setting.

  • Comfort with making minor program edits and machine adjustments to improve quality and efficiency.

  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in troubleshooting and optimizing machine performance.

Work Environment

The role is based in a newer manufacturing facility built in 2021 that is very clean, safe, and climate controlled. The shop features state-of-the-art machinery and equipment, including modern CNC press brakes and related fabrication technology. The organization manufactures over 10,000 different parts serving a wide variety of industries, including data centers, vessels, industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. The work schedule offers both 1st shift (approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) and 2nd shift (approximately 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) opportunities, with typical workweeks of 45–50 hours and additional 10- or 12-hour shifts when production demands increase. The environment is busy, stable, and booked with years of work, providing consistent hours and exposure to diverse projects in a modern fabrication setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alliance, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
