JMT’s Allentown, PA Construction Management Team is seeking qualified and experienced Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisors for highway, bridge, and other infrastructure projects within the PennDOT's District 5-0 region (Lehigh, Berks, Carbon, Monroe, and Schuylkill Counties).
The successful candidate will supervise standard inspection procedures of construction activities on behalf of our clients (primarily PennDOT) for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations
Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standards
Oversee, schedule and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all project phases
Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes
Makes field notes and computations
Work on behalf of the Client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction related field issues
Witness routine sampling and tests on concrete, soils and other materials
Gathers and maintains project records (using PennDOT ECMS and other systems)
Interact with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries
Additional Functions and Responsibilities

Required Skills
Ability to act in an Owner's Agent/Responsible in Charge Role
Computer proficiency
Current Client Requested Certifications, including:
NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation Highway Construction
NECEPT- Bituminous Field Technician
PennDOT Concrete Field Technician (ACI Concrete Field Technician is prerequisite)
Active driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
At a minimum, the candidate must meet the PennDOT Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor Level I criteria
High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience)
4+ years of Transportation, Highway or Bridge Construction Inspection Experience
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering
Supervisory experience in construction management or inspection projects
CDS V-3 and/or ECMS Wave 5 certification or experience
