Aerotek Maintenance Technician in Allentown, Pennsylvania
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout a high-volume distribution facility. In this role, you install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment while providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior technicians.
Responsibilities
Repair and maintain material handling equipment and pneumatic systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, including conveyors, sorters, and robotics.
Perform predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on MHE, automated conveyor systems, and related mechanical and controls equipment.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with material handling equipment, including electrical and mechanical components, to minimize downtime.
Use data analysis and basic project management techniques to identify root causes and implement improvements.
Apply principles of risk management and, where applicable, continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma to maintenance processes.
Mentor and support junior technicians, providing guidance, training, and oversight to help them develop their technical skills.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize work, coordinate downtime, and support production goals.
Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays, to support 24/7 operations as needed.
Essential Skills
Conveyor maintenance experience, including repair and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems.
Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
Ability to work with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications, with at least 1 year of experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with maintenance management and preventative maintenance planning.
Familiarity with conveyor maintenance in automated environments.
Basic project management skills to organize and execute maintenance projects.
Familiarity with Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with sorters, robotics, and other automated material handling technologies.
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Experience providing informal leadership or mentoring to junior technicians.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $71344.00 - $71344.00/yr.
