Reference #: 1993137 Hunter Hamilton is partnering with a mission-driven, highly regulated healthcare manufacturing organization to identify a Director of Operations to provide strong onsite leadership during a critical phase of growth and transformation. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role with responsibility for operational performance across quality-driven, patient-critical manufacturing environments. The opportunity is ideal for a leader who thrives in complexity, brings clarity to ambiguity, and knows how to align teams around accountability and execution. The role is currently structured as a temporary engagement, with openness to contract-only, fractional, late-career, or contract-to-permanent arrangements based on mutual fit and interest. Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) You will be accountable for cross-functional operational outcomes, even where reporting lines are indirect. Key Responsibilities
Provide strong, visible onsite leadership and operational oversight
Establish structure, accountability, and consistency across operations
Lead within a tiered management and performance-driven operating model
Drive operational excellence in a highly regulated environment
Partner closely with Quality and Regulatory teams, particularly during audits and inspections
Improve morale, rebuild trust, and break down organizational silos
Lead teams through change, transformation, and evolving business priorities
Operate comfortably with accountability across both direct and indirect teams
Ideal Candidate Profile
Director-level operations leader with significant people leadership experience
Background in highly regulated environments, such as:
Pharmaceuticals
Medical devices
Diagnostics
Experience in organizations with:
Strong performance management systems
Lean / continuous improvement cultures
Rapidly changing or transformational environments
Demonstrated ability to move organizations from ambiguity to structure
Comfortable making decisions amid complex, competing, or biased stakeholder perspectives Preferred Experience & Qualifications
Lean Six Sigma experience strongly preferred
Proven experience supporting audits and inspection readiness
Strong operational mindset with systems-level thinking
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP or similar); leadership effectiveness matters more than system depth
