Key responsibilities include installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the university's phone systems and cable plant.
The engineer will work with management, users, and vendors on the design and installation of communication services.
They will also assess system needs, make upgrades, and document work.
In addition, the engineer may supervise student employees and assist with network operations.
Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least four years of experience in communication infrastructure.
Required skills include knowledge of IP addressing and routing, personal computers, customer service, and excellent communication skills.
Physical ability to perform tasks like lifting equipment and working in confined spaces is necessary.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree, experience with wire plant construction, IP Telephony, and UCaaS products, alongside configuring wireless devices and Zoom.
