Job Description:
Salary: $21 -$34/hour. Compensation packages may be higher/lower than what is listed, & will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, education and class level.
This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in clinical trial start-up activities, data quality management, and operational performance reporting in a regulated clinical research environment.
Job Duties:
Review, clean, and standardize site activation datasets (e.g., regulatory start-up milestones, IRB approval dates, contract execution, SIV dates).
Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and outliers in site activation records and work with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date site activation trackers in Excel or approved clinical systems.
Document data definitions, assumptions, and data-cleaning logic to support audit readiness and transparency.
Support the development of dashboards and visual reports to track site activation timelines and key performance indicators (KPIs) (e.g., time from site selection to activation, milestone cycle times).
Create clear, executive-ready visualizations (charts, tables, trend analyses) to support operational decision-making.
Assist in identifying trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for process improvement in site activation.
Work closely with Clinical Operations, Start-Up, Regulatory, and Data teams to understand site activation workflows.
Support ad hoc analyses and special projects related to clinical trial start-up performance.

Qualifications:
Desired Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Public Health, Data Analytics, Health Informatics, or a related field.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting).
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) or advanced Excel charting.
Ability to work with large datasets while maintaining data accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with clinical research, clinical trial operations, or site start-up processes.
Basic understanding of clinical trial lifecycle and regulatory requirements (e.g., IRB, contracts).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
