The Opportunity

This position works out of our office in Alimos, Athens in Greece within the International Finance Division (IFO).

As the Finance Director , you will lead the financial activities of the shared service function, ensuring compliance with all regulations, accounting principles, and internal standards. You will act as a key business partner to affiliate leadership teams, driving financial stewardship, strategic insights, and proactive decision support across the organization.

Beyond functional finance excellence, this role plays a critical part in shaping collective company governance and strengthening cross-functional collaboration by working closely with commercial, HR, QA, and other business leaders.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and commercial leaders, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and solutions that drive growth and operational excellence.

  • Strengthen cross-functional collaboration by fostering transparency, shared governance, and effective decision‑making across the affiliate and regional teams.

  • Provide strategic financial insights to support resource allocation, commercial strategies, and achievement of business objectives.

  • Represent Corporate Finance in respective Committees/Leadership meetings and governance forums, contributing to strategic discussions and business reviews.

  • Maintain strong relationships with the business and promote a customer‑centric mindset, ensuring finance supports value creation for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, promoting a culture of accountability, empowerment, and continuous improvement.

  • Drive a proactive financial culture through forward‑looking analysis, early risk identification, and continuous process optimization.

  • Oversee core financial operations, ensuring strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and accurate financial reporting.

  • Prepare and present financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, forecasts, audits, regulatory filings) that clearly communicate insights to senior leadership.

  • Ensure timely and compliant submission of tax returns and all required statutory documentation.

  • Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, and consultants to maintain high-quality financial governance.

  • Evaluate investment and financing strategies to support organizational needs and long-term sustainability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s degree or professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA preferred).

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or controlling, ideally within a multinational or matrix organization.

  • Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights.

  • Language requirements: Fluency in English (written and spoken), Greek language proficiency

  • Solid understanding of IFRS/GAAP, tax legislation, and internal control frameworks.

  • Demonstrated success in business partnering and influencing senior stakeholders.

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to build and develop teams.

  • Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel.
