About the Role
The Security Monitor (SM) plays a critical role in maintaining the security posture of restricted and controlled areas, ensuring the safety of personnel and infrastructure. Reporting to the Security Monitor Supervisor, the SM provides line-of-sight monitoring of uncleared personnel and ensures compliance with site security protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor uncleared personnel to prevent unauthorized access or removal of sensitive materials.
Enforce site regulations and communicate security procedures professionally.
Operate handheld radio systems for effective communication.
Respond to emergency events and maintain control of personnel.
Complete incident and infraction reports accurately.
Support other operational areas (e.g., custodial, food services, trades) as needed.
Promote and maintain health and safety compliance.
Qualifications
Essential:
Completion of Year 12
Valid Driver’s Licence (manual transmission)
White Card (Construction Induction)
Minimum 1 year of work experience
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in extreme weather and physically demanding conditions
Desirable:
Previous security experience
Experience with handheld radio communications
Working at Heights and Elevated Work Platform tickets
Security Clearance Requirement
Applicants must be eligible to obtain and retain a minimum of NV1 (Australian) or SECRET (U.S.) Department of Defence Security Clearance.
Additional Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
Commitment to EHS and Quality standards
Willingness to comply with all site procedures and policies
