Water Restoration Technician Lead
Pay: $38 -$48/hr
Job Description
The Water Restoration Technician Lead oversees and performs water extraction and structural drying services for both residential and commercial clients. As the on-site leader for a restoration crew, the Technician Lead ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with exceptional customer service. This role involves direct interaction with customers, including vulnerable populations, and requires representing the company with professionalism, integrity, and technical expertise.
Responsibilities
Lead a crew in removing water from structures using industry-standard extraction tools and specialized drying equipment.
Perform controlled demolition, including removal of damaged furniture, flooring, drywall, and other building materials.
Ensure all restoration activities follow IICRC standards and company protocols.
Drive extensively to customer locations, ensuring timely arrival and professional on-site conduct.
Enter customers’ homes and businesses with care, providing trustworthy, respectful, and solutions-focused service.
Interact directly with vulnerable populations such as children, elderly individuals, or medically sensitive clients.
Collect monetary payments upon completion of services and prepare for subsequent service calls.
Clearly communicate restoration plans and progress to property owners and managers.
Oversee, coach, and support crew members during daily operations.
Ensure proper equipment setup, usage, and maintenance.
Maintain safety standards, including proper PPE use and job site hazard mitigation.
Essential Skills
5+ years of experience in water restoration.
Ability to lead a two-man team.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Medically cleared to wear a respirator and successfully complete a respirator fit test.
Active IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, carrying equipment, and working in tight or challenging environments.
Strong communication and customer-service skills.
Ability to manage time efficiently while handling multiple service calls.
Experience in restoration, construction, or related fields preferred.
IICRC Applied Structural Drying (ASD) certification.
IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician certification.
IICRC Health and Safety Technician certification.

Work Environment
Frequent travel between job sites is required. You will work in water-damaged structures, often dealing with debris, mold, and varying indoor conditions. Personal protective equipment, including respirators, gloves, and protective clothing, is used regularly to ensure safety.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
