Aagard Automation Technician (Day and Night Shift) in Alexandria, Minnesota

Job Duties

Key Obsessions:  

Own the Build Process from Start to Finish 

Assemble mechanical and/or electrical components according to specifications. 

Log issues and follow established corrective action workflows. 

Maintain tools and work areas with a focus on safety and organization. 

Demonstrate independence, adaptability and problem-solving. 

Ensure Quality of Purpose-Built Equipment 

Verify build quality by checking parts and assemblies against prints and standards. 

Cycle equipment to identify performance or design issues during build process. 

Conduct machine testing and troubleshooting. 

Drive progress to meet Win-the-Week goals to deliver projects on time. 

Lead Projects and Provide the Aagard Experience 

Build trust and maintain positive relationships within Aagard and with customers. 

Lead projects as the primary internal contact, ensuring schedules are met and proactively communicating any part delays or build challenges. 

Travel for machine installation, startup and customer training. 

Support knowledge sharing and training of fellow team members.

Minimum Education Required

Knowledge and Experience: 

Minimum High School diploma, Associate’s degree in related field plus assembly experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and/or experience 

Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred 

Ability to read and properly use measuring instruments and small hand tools 

Basic shop math skills as rounding, positive/negative numbers, metric system 

Knowledge of blueprint reading: hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, and use of correct terminology 

Ability to read CAD drawings and operate CAD software 

Experience or training with computers and ability to learn and use Aagard specific software 

Ability to walk or stand up to 100 percent of the time 

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb 

Confidence and ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers verbally and in writing 

Strong prioritization, time management, organization, proactive decision-making, and attention to detail 

Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time, which may include any day of the week. 

Must obtain and maintain a valid passport. (cost reimbursed by Aagard)
