General Function
Under supervision, this position assists in providing leadership and the delivery of programs and services sponsored by the City of Alexandria. This position may also assist with other duties, including special events, such as River Fete and Winter Fete, marketing, and special projects.
The student worker ensures the successful delivery of a summer program by actively participating in recreational and educational activities. The student worker will help maintain a safe and clean site, ensuring a high level of program quality while working to establish a positive relationship with all program participants. This position may also assist as office support, including making copies, assisting with special projects, and helping with customer assistance.
Minimum Applicant Qualifications:
Must be 16 - 22 years old;
Must be a student in high school or higher education;
Students MUST provide proof of enrollment in school;
Possession of or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification;
Appropriate clearance from fingerprinting and background check;
Ability to submit proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
A copy of a valid driver's license or state identification card.
At least one or more years of college preferred and experience working in a teen program, day camp program strongly preferred.
Work Schedule:
This position may be assigned up to 30 hours per work week and may include some evening, weekend and holidays.
