Amergis Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift (7p–7a) in Alexandria, Louisiana
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in the Alexandria, LA area. The ideal nurse will deliver high-quality patient care, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and possess the flexibility to float to sister facilities as needed to meet guaranteed hours.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct and individualized nursing care to adult Med Surg patients.
Assess patient conditions, develop nursing care plans, and administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Monitor, document, and report changes in patient health status.
Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant care environment.
Float to sister locations within 25 miles as required to meet weekly guaranteed hours.
Schedule
Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
36 hours per week minimum guaranteed
Travel Requirements
- Minimum travel distance: 50 miles from permanent residence to qualify as a traveler.
Shift Guarantee & Cancellation Policy
36 hours/week minimum guarantee
The facility may cancel up to two (2) shifts per 13-week contract
Cancelation fee/shift guarantee requirements apply as outlined in the agreement.
Qualifications
Active RN license in the state of Louisiana or compact licensure.
Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg experience (2+ years preferred).
Current BLS (required); ACLS preferred depending on unit needs.
Strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability and willingness to float to sister facilities within 25 miles.
