What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a Technical Systems Analyst who will be conducting vulnerability assessments for secure facilities and transportation assets. Also, the selected applicant will be conducting physical attack testing utilizing specialty equipment and training.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Work closely with and help lead a high performing team and their multiple customers to assess potential vulnerabilities to terrorist or other attacks using a wide variety of analysis tools, tabletop exercises, limited scope performance tests, and force on force exercises.
Have an interest in and willingness to participate in system level security architecture design and analysis.
Use a multidisciplinary approach to examine the interfaces and interactions between the various elements of physical security, access delay, and response assets.
Provide risk analysis of current, potential, and emerging threats to national security of both fixed and transportation assets.
Participate in access delay testing involving heavy tools and equipment.
Due to the nature of this work the selected applicant will need to work onsite.
Salary Range:
$102,400 - $199,700
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five years of relevant experience or a relevant Master's degree and one year of relevant experience. Relevant experience for this position is in one or more of the following areas:
Experience with the development and documentation of security system enhancements
Experience with the development and or evaluation of intelligence driven products that provide support to operations and force protection staff and management
Experience facilitating and providing transportation surety materials to operations staff, law enforcement, and military personnel through the executive level
Experience in the conduct of vulnerability analyses of fixed sites and mobile assets including the development of scenarios and critical pathways and demonstrated analytical skills in quantifying and modeling combat using table-top exercises, reality-based training scenarios, and/or force on force exercises
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance
Qualifications We Desire:
Master's degree in a relevant discipline or the equivalent experience
Ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment
Excellent and demonstrated oral and written communication and listening skills
Learn quickly and adapt to a dynamic, ever-changing, and sometimes stressful work environment
A genuine interest and experience in supporting the analysis of security system effectiveness against potential threats
Experience operating mechanical equipment such as demolition saws, thermal torches, angle grinders and sawzalls.
About Our Team:
The Access Delay and Structural Assessment Department at Sandia National Laboratories serves the nation by designing, analyzing, testing, and assessing physical security delay barrier systems to protect critical assets and attractive targets from theft and sabotage. We are currently working with various elements within the Department of War (DoW) and the Department of Energy (DOE) to ensure the protection of high value assets at domestic/international fixed site facilities and transportation venues.

Security Clearance:
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
