Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
The General Production Worker supports day-to-day production operations by palletizing and shrink-wrapping products, cleaning and sanitizing workstations, and safely moving materials throughout the facility. This role requires careful attention to detail when weighing and recording product information, as well as the physical ability to handle and move materials in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Palletize finished products and securely shrink-wrap pallets for storage and shipment.
Clean and sanitize workstations and surrounding areas to maintain a safe and hygienic production environment.
Move product and materials using a manual pallet jack in a safe and efficient manner.
Weigh products on a small digital scale and accurately read and record digital weight measurements.
Move filled bags of product, which may weigh up to 50 pounds, following company policy that requires two employees to lift anything over 50 pounds.
Push and pull large bowls on wheels that can weigh up to 1,000 pounds, ensuring that at least eight bowls are moved per shift.
Follow all safety procedures and good manufacturing practices (GMPs) at all times while working on the production floor.
Work effectively on a production line performing general labor, assembly, and packaging tasks as needed.
Support food production and food manufacturing processes by operating basic production or packaging equipment as directed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area throughout the shift.
Stand and remain on your feet for extended periods (8–12 hours) while performing repetitive tasks.
Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and address any issues that arise during the shift.
Essential Skills
Recent experience working in a general labor, construction, manufacturing, or similar general labor environment within the last 5 years.
At least 1 year of continuous employment with the same company within the last 5 years.
Ability to stand and work on your feet for 8–12 hours per shift.
Ability to lift and move bags weighing up to 50 pounds and to request assistance for items over 50 pounds in accordance with company policy.
Ability to push and pull wheeled bowls weighing up to 1,000 pounds multiple times per shift.
Comfort working in a physically demanding role in a production or manufacturing environment.
Ability to accurately read, understand, and record digital weight measurements.
Willingness to follow strict safety procedures and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Background in production, production line work, or general production.
Experience with general labor tasks such as assembly, packaging, and material handling.
Familiarity with food production, food manufacturing, or food handling environments.
Exposure to basic machine operation in a manufacturing or production setting.
Demonstrated reliability and consistency in prior employment.
Ability to work night shifts from approximately 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on a rotating schedule.

Work Environment
The facility operates in a small-town, family-like setting with around 30 full-time employees, fostering a friendly and collaborative atmosphere. Safety and adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMPs) are top priorities, and all team members are expected to follow established rules and procedures. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, hair net, eye protection, jeans, shirt, bump cap, and lab coat. Employees must follow strict GMP-related guidelines, including no smoking or tobacco products at the facility, no perfume or cologne, no fingernail polish, no jewelry or piercings, and clothing free of rips, tears, holes, or embellishments. The temperature can become hot in the summer, with some manufacturing rooms reaching up to 90 degrees, while conditions remain comfortable in the winter.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albert Lea, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.50/hr.
