Safely operate modern row-crop farm equipment, including but not limited to tractors equipped with GPS/autosteer, combines, self-propelled and pull-type sprayers, grain carts, tillage equipment, planters, and drills. Haul grain and farm products by driving semi-trucks or straight trucks with grain trailers to elevators, processors, and other delivery points, including loading, unloading, and tarping loads as required. Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance and repairs on all farm equipment, trucks, and machinery, including tractors, combines, sprayers, augers, grain dryers, and related equipment. Conduct general shop, building, and grounds maintenance, including welding and fabrication as needed, and repair and maintain grain bins, shops, machine sheds, and other farm structures. Complete property maintenance tasks such as snow removal, fence repair, lawn and yard upkeep, and other groundskeeping duties. Assist with field operations including, but not limited to, planting, spraying, tillage, harvest, rock picking, field scouting, and tile or drainage work. Respond to equipment breakdowns and weather-related timing demands by working extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays during critical seasons such as planting and harvest, and troubleshoot and repair equipment in the field under time-sensitive conditions. Perform any other duties assigned by the owner/operator that are reasonably related to the efficient operation of the farm.

Additional Compensation

Applicants may be offered higher than the advertised wage rate due to experience or merit.

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
