The Member Solutions Specialist provides support to the Member Solutions Department in a manner that conforms with the needs, policies, and procedures of the credit union; while at the same time maintaining the best public relations possible for the credit union, complying with all state and federal laws. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Repossessions, Asset Recovery, Collections & Delinquency Management \' 75% \' Manage repossessed assets, work with agents, and assist with sales. \' Process collateral protection insurance claims, refunds, and charges \' Assist in collecting delinquent loans and negative accounts. \' Prepare and submit garnishment documents. \' \'Skip trace\' accounts as needed. \' Prepare and file small claims cases. \' Work with collection agencies, attorneys, and repossession agents. Legal & Compliance Responsibilities \' 5% \' Initiate and maintain detailed records for bankruptcies, write-offs, repossessions, and legal fees. \' Produce legal documents for bankruptcy and legal collection processes. \' Ensure compliance with Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Credit Union policies. \' Attend training and follow all regulatory policies. Member Interaction & Account Management \' 10% \' Work with irate or unwilling members professionally. \' Perform payments, payment adjustments, and transactions for members. \' Assist members with credit correction requests & disputes. \' Process Soldiers and Sailors Relief Act requests. Team Collaboration & Communication \' 5% \' Cooperate and work with co-workers as a team member. \' Accept incoming phone calls and distribute correspondence (mail, faxes). \' Assist employees in understanding policies, procedures, and practices. Reporting & Documentation \' 5% \' Maintain and balance weekly and monthly GLs. \' Prepare periodic reports on collection activities. \' Perform extensive data entry with a high level of accuracy. \' Perform additional duties as assigned.
