System One IT has a 12-month+ contract opening for a Technical Project Manager to support a state government end customer. PMP and CSM certifications are strongly desired. This is a hybrid position, based in Albany, NY.
Responsibilities
Manage key components of the project scope, schedule, and budget, including variances and staffing plans, to ensure successful project delivery.
Oversee risks, issues, communications, actions, and project interdependencies for assigned project components.
Lead project team members in a matrixed environment, ensuring high-quality task completion and alignment with project goals.
Facilitate detailed task planning with technical resources, managing resources, and collaborating with management on allocations.
Identify and assess project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and manage mitigation plans with stakeholders.
Proactively resolve issues by collaborating with team members and stakeholders to ensure project progress.
Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, including preparing agendas, minutes, and action items to clarify needs and promote decision-making.
Work with project stakeholders and team members to ensure understanding of project objectives and well-defined roles and responsibilities.
Oversee and coordinate vendors supporting rules extraction and use case documentation, ensuring scope adherence, resource management, and deliverable review.
Perform other duties as assigned to support project success.
REQUIREMENTS
Between four (4) and seven (7) years of experience as a Project Manager.
At least 2 years of experience working on State or Federal government projects as a project manager.
3 to 5 years of experience working with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid development and technical project management methodologies.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in information technology, Business, Public Administration, Project Management, or Communications preferred.
Current PMP (Project Management Professional) certification from the Project Management Institute preferred.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification is a plus.
Minimum experience required: 8 years
