Duties Description Under the direction of the Senior Marine Service Representative, SG-23, for the Marine Services Unit, Albany Office, the selected candidate will provide general office and clerical assistance. Duties include, but are not limited to:• Provide general office support tasks including filing, copying, and scanning documents• Process permit applications in a timely manner• Assist in processing and filing inspection and examination paperwork for various program areas• Operate standard office equipment, including computers, printers, scanners, and copiers• Assist the Administrative Assistant by supporting activities directly related to: inventory management, pool vehicle usage, and shipping and receiving materials• Assist in maintaining and taking physical inventory of boating materials and supplies • Assist in answering the phone and responding to general boating inquiries. Refer inquiries to the appropriate personnel as necessary• Assist in receiving, picking up, delivering, opening, appropriately recording and time stamping, sorting, and distributing office mail• Receive, unload, unpack, sort, store, count, and distribute goods received • Maintain, update, and correct both paper and electronic records and/or files• Create, update, and maintain records information in spreadsheets and databases• As needed and as directed, contact various internal and external parties to obtain information• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace

Additional Comments OPERATING NEEDS: • Candidate must have the physical ability to perform light to medium lifting.• Candidate must have a NYS driver’s license.• Candidate must have basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and preferably Microsoft Access.
