To promote financial wellness and provide students with customized assistance with financial planning, the University at Albany is hiring a team of Financial Coaches to implement a new model. The addition of
Financial Coaches will further the University's student success model, provide holistic financial advising to our students, and break down institutional barriers to success.
The Financial Coach team will:
Provide proactive case management with a focus on assisting students in the development of comprehensive financial plans that span the duration of their enrollment.
Collaborate with campus partners to improve the referral process and create a more seamless student experience.
Engage in proactive communication with students via EAB for key milestones and deadlines
throughout the semester and review and updates individual student financial plans as necessary.
Position starts on or around June 1, 2026.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
At least 2 years of experience working in a higher education setting.
Experience working with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.
Strong writing skills (as demonstrated by application materials submitted).
Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to be highly organized, to prioritize effectively, and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Preferred Requirements:
Master's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
Experience working in financial aid, student accounts, and/or academic advising.
Experience with platforms such as Peoplesoft/Banner, EAB Navigate, Brightspace/Blackboard, degree audit software.
Proficient in Spanish or other non-English language.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $63,000 - $65,000
