Albany Medical Center Associate Counsel in Albany, New York

$106,604.71 - $170,567.54

The Associate Counsel provides legal services to Albany Med Health System and its constituent entities, reporting directly to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel.

Minimum Requirements:• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, as well as New York State bar admission.• At least five years of full-time legal practice experience directly relevant to the operations of an academic health sciences center, such as contracting, business arrangements, patient care issues and regulatory compliance issues.• Significant experience with employment law and labor/union issues is required, as this position is expected to serve as a primary resource for the Human Resources and Labor Relations functions.• Excellent oral and written communication skills and analytical, research and negotiation skills.• Sound independent judgment and the ability to effectively provide legal advice and counsel as a strategic partner to in-house clients.• Multi-tasking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.• Proficiency in common software applications and systems, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and Internet-based search and traditional and AI-assisted research technologies.
