Lead Annual Giving. Inspire Donor Engagement. Drive Institutional Support.

Adams State University is seeking a strategic and donor-focused Manager of Annual Fund to lead our annual giving efforts. This position plays a vital role in cultivating alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends to support the university's mission and fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Program Oversight

  • Develop and implement a strategic annual giving plan with clear objectives and timelines
  • Establish benchmarks and evaluate program performance across donor segments
  • Apply best practices and innovative strategies to increase donor engagement and revenue

Fundraising Campaigns & Donor Engagement

  • Design and execute mass solicitation campaigns via direct mail, email, social media, and online giving
  • Manage monthly giving and mid-level donor programs
  • Lead the annual student Phonathon and giving day events (Giving Week, Giving Tuesday, Colorado Gives Day)

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with Advancement leadership, Athletics, and Marketing to align fundraising efforts
  • Coordinate with academic departments and other university units to support annual appeals
  • Collaborate with the Foundation Manager of Operations to maintain donor database integrity

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Use donor analytics to assess trends and optimize fundraising strategies
  • Prepare regular reports for senior leadership and stakeholders on program performance

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in fundraising, marketing, or related field
  • Ability to travel occasionally and work evenings/weekends
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to donor-centric engagement
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines

Preferred:

  • Experience in higher education or nonprofit fundraising
  • Familiarity with Adams State University and the San Luis Valley
  • Experience with direct mail, telemarketing, and digital media campaigns
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed fundraising goals

Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: $51,132--$58,164
