Philips Manufacturing Engineer 3 in Alajuela, Costa Rica

​Manufacturing Engineer 3

Is responsible for overseeing product development lifecycle management (PDLM ) subprojects, defining production-related requirements, updating quality control plans, providing factory input, implementing factory and product design changes, enhancing manufacturing processes, and optimizing Capex strategies independently with limited supervision.

  • Leads assigned Product Development Lifecycle Management subprojects for specific manufacturing technologies, ensuring alignment between product development, industrialization, and launch execution.

  • Defines and manages production-related manufacturing requirements in PDLM, supporting smooth transitions from design to production with strong quality, safety, regulatory, and compliance adherence.

  • Oversees equipment installation, process ramp-up, and recurring equipment procurement, providing advanced factory support to ensure stable, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations.

  • Drives continuous improvement through design change implementation, lean manufacturing practices, process optimization, Capex efficiency initiatives, and monitoring of processes, tools, and equipment post-handover.

  • Provides factory perspective and formal input during SR milestone sign-off and project closure, ensuring manufacturing readiness, quality standards, and operational excellence are fully achieved.

Y ou're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Sciences, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing/Operations, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Production Engineering, or Cost Engineering (bachelor’s level).

  • Lean Six Sigma certification and 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred

  • Advanced English skills preferred.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This role is an onsite role , Schedule business hours.
