A Carter Lumber Commercial Framing Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the direction and project management for on site construction including commercial repairs and remodeling work performed by contractors. This role requires strong project management skills, deep knowledge of building materials and installation techniques, and familiarity with local building codes. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position.
Requirements:
Experience in construction supervision
Ability to travel regionally as needed
Multi-family construction and wood framing experience
Previous management experience in a building materials environment
Strong knowledge of construction methods and process improvements
Problem-solving ability with sound judgment in troubleshooting and evaluation
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Analytical skills to provide recommendations and resolve issues
Proficiency with computer systems and construction-related software
This position will be covering the Northeast Akron/Cleveland regions
Salary based on experience
Responsibilities:
Program Management
Recruits and qualifies contractors and ensures all paperwork requirements are met.
Ensures that contractors are completing work according to the company’s code of conduct.
Works closely with the District Managers and Regional Manager to create a strong installed sales team to meet company sales and margin goals.
Job Management
Schedules and coordinates on site construction.
Ensures that jobs are completed timely and according to contract.
Solves issues in a patient and understanding manner by using strong judgment in analyzing, troubleshooting and evaluating the issue while ensuring the customer is treated with the utmost respect and given the highest quality of workmanship.
Safety, Knowledge & Training
Ensures contractors are performing their job in a safe manner and that OSHA regulations are being followed.
Directs and facilitates best practices to ensure safety standards are being met by conducting inspections.
Ability to direct and train contractors effectively to ensure the guidelines and requirements are being met per regulatory agencies.
Ensures the contractor has the training needed to install the product safely and efficiently.
