CITY OF AIKEN 0200 Maintenance Worker (Buildings and Grounds) in Aiken, South Carolina
: The City of Aiken is seeking a Maintenance Worker to join our Public Services Department in the Buildings and Grounds Division.
: - Installation and maintenance of seasonal flowerbeds - General landscaping maintenance - Performing manual labor and related duties - Installs sod, trees and various other plants - Applies pesticides and herbicides - Operates chipper and a variety of commercial mowers and small engine hand tools - Works in inclement weather
Teamwork is an essential function of the job and at times it may be required that the candidate work outside the Grounds Division.: - A working knowledge of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees is preferred - Experience with tractor/large equipment is desirable - Must be able to read and write, as well as understand and follow verbal instructions - Must have a valid state driver's license
