SCHEDULE
Regular Full-Time Position
Must be available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 04:30 pm and supports operations after hours as needed.
Must be able to work remote on the island of Oahu.
Must be flexible with schedule changes to meet operational needs.
HIRING RANGE
$65,646.00 - $85,943.00 annually
Actual pay commensurate with experience
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the IT administration and operation of I.S. business information systems and applications. Ensures system integrity and availability. Performs testing and implementation of system solutions. Handles multiple projects simultaneously using project management tools and techniques. Identifies, analyzes and researches system solutions for business applications. Provides technical consulting services to departments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyzes business information systems/technology and application processes based on customers' needs. (40%)*
• Ensures high availability of all devices, connections, and software for business information systems and applications as assigned.
• Administers IT systems as assigned.
• Implements and enforces IT standard protocols and policies.
• Provides thorough analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning.
• Utilizes data analytic tools to identify potential issues and improvement areas.
• Facilitates adaptation of products/applications based on business needs.
• Evaluates and recommend improvements on current procedures, processes, and business applications.
- Troubleshoots and analyzes problems and derives various technical solutions. (30%)*
• Debugs Health Level 7 (HL7) and other interface messages as appropriate.
• Drafts technical specifications and related documentation on systems operating procedures for review and approval department management.
• Screens and evaluates software modification requests for validity and feasibility and provides recommendations to the appropriate management team.
• Performs database administration tasks.
• Performs troubleshooting and/or implementing interfaces, systems, and infrastructure.
• Supports operations after normal business hours as required.
- Handles assigned projects within DLS using project management and quality tools. (30%)*
• Establishes requirements, project scope, feasibilities, and timelines.
• Consults with Information Systems (IS) technical personnel to identify technical options.
• Ensures feasibility of technical proposal under the advisement of the appropriate IS management team member.
• Tracks projects as defined in Department and/or company policy and procedures, identifying and reporting budgetary variance and project scope deviation promptly to the management team.
- Business Systems Analyst II Responsibilities (in addition to Business Systems Analyst I):
• Works with IS management team to establish financial and staff resource requirements for projects.
• Coordinates vendor Request for Proposal (RFP) processes.
• Evaluates business requirements for enterprise business applications integration.
• Solicits and identifies customer requirements.
• Develops & implements test plans and schedules to determine enterprise business applications' reliability, functionality, performance, usability, and integration with other DLS business applications.
• Reviews testing plans, tracks, and documents the development and results.
• Provides feedback to vendors, and internal team(s) as appropriate.
• Performs technical training of staff in alignment with business strategy and operational needs.
- Performs other duties as required.

JOB DEMANDS
Typical Physical Demands:
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Able to sit and use PC for two (2) hours continuously.
• Requires working under pressure and handling multiple assignments.
• Able to lift, carry, push or pull items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds occasionally.
• Requires ground and/or air travel occasionally.
Typical Working Conditions:
• Work environment includes conditions common to administrative offices.
• Generally works in an indoor, air-conditioned area.
• Remote position must be located on Oahu. Requires frequent visits to company office(s) and client locations.
• Responds to off-hour calls.
• Ability to work remotely (high speed internet, secure working area, cell phone, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (High School diploma plus four
• (4) years of Information Technology work experience in healthcare systems or Associate’s degree plus two (2) years of Information Technology work experience in healthcare systems may substitute for Bachelor’s degree).
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Medical Technology or related field.
Experience:
Business Systems Analyst I:
• Two (2) years of experience in IT or on business systems.
• One (1) year of project management experience.
• One (1) year of experience in IT system interfaces.
• One (1) year of experience with IT systems administration.
Preferred:
• Experience working with EMR/EHR in a clinical or healthcare environment.
• Experience with HL7 Messaging.
• Experience with Laboratory Information or Pathology Systems.
• Experience with Antrim.
Business Systems Analyst II:
• Four (4) years of project management experience.
• Three (3) years of experience with IT systems administration.
• Two (2) years of experience in IT system interfaces and integrations.
• Two (2) years of experience with EMR/EHR integrations and/or LIS integrations.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing projects.
