Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Sr Buyer.
What you’ll do:
Primary Function - Job Summary
Review MRO requirements to fulfill stock and spot buys to assure on time production schedule, interfacing directly with suppliers and negotiating prices and T&C´s · Manage Hagemeyer and HASS in house propertly and look for the best prices for purchasing goods in the plant; guarantee the stock-Spot material on the MRO WHS and make sure to comply with SCM Policies for purchasing and relationship with suppliers and manage holds for invoice pending payments for suppliers, manage RFQ and responsible for cost outs in MRO from materials in the plant and avoid any Excess and Obsolescence for MRO Inventory .
Essential Functions - Job Responsibilities
A.-Monitor and ensure that Hagemeyer (in house supplier) and HaSS provides integrated sourcing, bar coded storeroom management, automatic restocking programs, vendor-managed inventory, JIT programs, and on-line ordering.
B. Assists in commercial activities such as supplier identification, evaluations, RFQs for indirect materials and services
C. Maintains inventory accuracy levels and proper stock inventory for effective production scheduling
D. Complete assigned EHS requirements for purchase and stock of chemical materials
E. Support plant requirements through positive relationships with suppliers, including assisting in legal and commercial issues to Mexico and create contracts , also responsible for REPSE compliance
F. Coordinates activities related to shipment of purchased products to plant (National and International)
G. Resolve on Hold invoices in a timely manner
H. Participate in Cost Reduction Projects, Kaizens, Ideas, etc
I. Complete assigned EHS action items. Participate in safety coaching. Submit Kaizen Burst ideas to improve Safety. Perform weekly safety checks. Lead department safety team. See attachment for more details.
J. Coordinate and facilitate the acquisition of goods and services
K. Budget-planning and reconciling
L. Lead MRO department supplier negotiations, prices and OTD
M. Leads Cycle Counts, procedures and reports outcomes.
N. In charge of Warehouse management. (MRO and Chemicals)
O. Manage and approve the base line for Hagemayer
P. Manage and control slow moving inventory to avoid any obsolescence in plant
Q. Reponsible for cost outs for the plant ( MRO MAterials) and responsible for the Supplier Annual Meeting
R. Supplier selection according Eaton Ethics and SCM policies
S- Quote with 3 suppliers according policy, respect 120 days (PT), open and close PO´s accordingly
T- Responsible for internal audit ( MRO) #LI-DG2
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (preferably Marketing,industrial engineer or administration).
Previous experience: 5 years of experience in a similar MRO role (purchasing)
Intermediate knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Basic knowledge MAPICS, AS400, ERP, SAP
Working Knowledge of MRP / ERP system, Oracle as a plus
Proficiency in Supply chain, Customs Law and Maquila Environment experience
Ability to communicate in the English language (90%) required. Functional competencies:
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Mexican and International customs trade law framework
Understanding Risk/Legal with the ability to research and comprehend issues relating to regional import regulations.
Must be proactive and results oriented
