Job Title: Panel Builder Job Description
The Panel Builder / Electrical Assembler will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels according to schematics, layout drawings, and specifications. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
Assemble and wire electrical control panels, including mounting components such as circuit breakers, relays, PLCs, and terminal blocks.
Perform point-to-point wiring and ensure proper labeling of wires and components.
Inspect and test completed panels for functionality and compliance with quality standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety protocols.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to resolve technical issues.
Document work performed and update records as necessary.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electrical assembly preferred.
1–3 years of experience in panel building or electrical assembly (industrial automation experience a plus).
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with UL standards and industrial control panel wiring practices is a plus.

Work Environment
Work on-site in two 6,000 sq ft buildings that are expanding. The panel building/fabrication environment provides a dynamic and hands-on experience.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
