Job Title: Technician Job Description
This position involves setting up molds and cycling them into specifications while maintaining operations safely and efficiently. The role ensures quality and production requirements are met and involves training others, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment.
Responsibilities
Set up molds and cycle into specifications.
Understand various materials, mixing materials, automatic color blenders, and cycles.
Explain why different materials require different cycles.
Identify and distinguish various defects and dimensions.
Possess knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems of machines.
Troubleshoot minor problems and adjust machines to specifications.
Properly shut down and start up machines.
Train and assist other technicians in performing tasks.
Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
Assist in training other maintenance, production, and personnel.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Essential Skills
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
Troubleshoot electrical circuits with accuracy.
Install motors, relays, starters, and control circuits.
Read hydraulic schematics and troubleshoot hydraulic circuits.
Perform maintenance on equipment with skill and competency.
Knowledgeable in refrigeration, drying, conveying, fluid pumps, and welding/fabrication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Some post-secondary education preferred (technical or vocational).
Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
Basic math, computer, and organizational skills.
Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
Demonstrated maintenance and troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Work Environment
Work takes place in a 90,000 sq ft facility with 15 extrusion lines and 2 labeling lines, primarily dealing with plastic extrusion for consumer products. The environment involves mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic-driven machines, emphasizing safety and efficiency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr.
