General internships are unpaid.

The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is seeking motivated students for a General Internship opportunity designed specifically for non-law majors. This internship offers valuable exposure to the criminal justice system while providing meaningful, hands-on experience in a professional public service environment.

Interns will support various divisions within the District Attorney’s Office and gain insight into how cases move through the judicial process. This is an excellent opportunity for students.

Learning Opportunities

I ntern assignments will be based on office needs and student interests when possible.

Int erns will:

  • Gain practical experience in a prosecutorial office

  • Develop professional communication and organizational skills

  • Learn about courtroom procedures and case processing

  • Observe collaboration between legal, administrative, and support teams

  • Build a foundation for careers in public service and criminal justice-related fields

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

  • Major is not in law or pre-law studies (non-law students only)

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Professional demeanor and reliability

  • Interest in public service and the criminal justice system

Work Schedule

Flexible scheduling options may be available to accommodate academic commitments.
