Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Materials, the successful candidate will work with internal and external supply chain personnel and will be involved in the storage, handling and shipping of materials for construction and maintenance projects, as well as materials management for emergency restoration. The successful candidate will take day-to-day direction from the Warehouse Work Leader and will be responsible for ensuring that the right material is delivered to the right location at the right time.
This position will appeal to individuals with warehousing, materials and supply chain background who are looking for an opportunity to work within a professional, safety-minded team environment where they can build and develop their materials management skillsets
Responsibilities:
Receiving and inspecting inbound materials from suppliers and returns from projects, ensuring receipt of the correct materials in good order, as well as adhering to AltaLink specifications and requirements.
Communicating material issues to the Supply Chain Team, Project Managers, Engineers, etc.
Investigating and resolving material, warehousing, and logistics issues.
Preparing, loading, and shipping materials to work sites.
Coordinating material storage.
Maintaining yard and warehouse cleanliness ensuring work area is well organized.
Conducting cycle counts and annual inventory counts.
Assisting internal customers and contractors in meeting their material requirements.
Assist internal customers and contractors with emergency material requests.
Perform all work in a safe and secure manner.
Some travel to Altalink facilities and work sites is required.

Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
5 + years of related warehousing experience.
Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities.
Experience operating a variety of material handling equipment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) is required.
Experience working with materials management software. Working knowledge of SAP MM and WM modules is preferred.
Background in electrical utilities industry an asset.
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and compliance.
Effective analytical, organizational, planning and time management skills.
Continuous improvement mindset.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive outcomes.
Physically capable of lifting heavy objects. To ensure we meet our safety requirements, you are required to be in good physical condition, have good manual dexterity and physical coordination and meet all physical fitness, medical and weight requirements.
Valid Alberta driver’s license.
Must be willing to accept occasional overtime (e.g., evenings and weekends), on-call work and out-of-town travel.
Proven track record of good attendance and job performance.
