Pet Nutrition Assistant Buyer in Acheson, Alberta

Here's the Scoop – Summary
Supports the Buyer by providing administrative and operational assistance in procuring Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) goods, materials, and services. This role is ideal for Associates already familiar with Northstar’s operations who want to grow into purchasing and supply chain responsibilities.
What a typical day looks like:
Assist in creating and managing purchase orders for MRO goods, materials, and services.
Communicate with suppliers to help ensure timely delivery and resolve minor issues.
Track and maintain inventory levels; support cycle counts and stock checks.
Assist the MRO Buyer with cost tracking, reporting, and data collection.
Research parts, materials, or services to verify they meet specifications.
Monitor supplier performance and maintain accurate records.
Follow company purchasing policies and safety guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in production, maintenance, warehouse, or inventory operations is highly valued.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork skills; able to interact with both internal teams and suppliers.
Comfortable using computers, spreadsheets, and basic ERP systems.
Eager to learn and take on responsibilities in procurement and purchasing.
