WSP USA Contracts Manager in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
WSP is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our Transport & Infrastructure team in Abu Dhabi. The role will support major infrastructure and transportation design projects across the region and will suit a professional with a strong background working within engineering consultancies.
The Contracts Manager will be responsible for the effective commercial and contractual management of consultancy agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, proactive risk management, and support to project delivery teams from project inception through to close‑out.
Contract & Commercial Management
Lead the administration and management of consultancy contracts for transport and infrastructure design projects.
Review, negotiate, and manage standard forms of contract (including FIDIC-based consultancy agreements).
Ensure contractual compliance across all stages of project delivery.
Provide commercial and contractual advice to project managers and design teams.
Claims, Variations & Risk
Manage contract variations, change control processes, and associated commercial impacts.
Support the preparation, assessment, and negotiation of claims and counterclaims.
Identify contractual risks and opportunities and advise on mitigation strategies.
Ensure timely contractual correspondence and records management.
Financial & Performance Oversight
Monitor project financial performance in collaboration with project controls and finance teams.
Review fee proposals, budgets, and amendments to ensure commercial robustness.
Support resolution of disputes and contribute to successful project close‑out.
Stakeholder & Client Interface
Act as a key point of contact for clients on contractual and commercial matters.
Liaise with legal, procurement, and commercial teams within WSP as required.
Support confidentiality, governance, and internal approval processes.
Degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Commercial Manager within an engineering or design consultancy.
Professional memberships (e.g. RICS, CICES, MRICS, or equivalent).
Experience supporting large, multi-disciplinary design teams.
Demonstrated experience on transport and infrastructure design projects (e.g. roads, rail, bridges, public transport, utilities, or urban infrastructure).
Strong knowledge of consultancy contracts, including FIDIC (White Book preferred).
Experience working in the Middle East or similar international markets.
Strong commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
