TRANSIT MANAGEMENT OF ABILENE INC Fleet Service Technician in Abilene, Texas
CityLink Transit is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Fleet Service Technician to support the daily operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of our transit vehicles. This position plays a vital role in ensuring buses and support vehicles are safe, clean, and ready for service to the community.
Key Responsibilities Perform routine inspections of buses and fleet vehicles. Conduct basic preventative maintenance (checking fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, and batteries). Fuel, wash, and clean buses (interior and exterior). Assist mechanics with minor repairs and maintenance tasks. Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly. Maintain accurate service records and documentation. Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair principles. Ability to operate buses and other fleet vehicles safely (CDL preferred or ability to obtain). Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
