The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a motivated Aerospace Engineering Intern to support the design, integration, testing, and evaluation of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and related mission platforms. This internship provides hands-on experience in a fast-paced prototyping and fabrication environment where engineering concepts move quickly from design to build to flight. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers supporting real-world operational requirements and gain exposure to airframe development, performance analysis, and flight test activities.
Responsibilities:
Assist in airframe design, modification, and integration activities
Support development of 3D models, drawings, and configuration updates
Participate in structural assessments and basic performance analysis
Assist with system integration of propulsion, control, and payload components
Support ground testing, fit checks, and pre-flightpreparation
Collect and organize test data during ground and flight events
Assist in development of technical documentation and test reports
Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of airframe or performance issues
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems teams during integration efforts
Qualifications:
Required:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or closely related field
Foundational understanding of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and structures
Experience with 3D CAD software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a hands-on lab and flight test environment
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET security clearance
Desired:
Experience with UAV/UAS platforms or RC aircraft
Familiarity with structural analysis or simulation tools
Exposure to propulsion systems or flight control concepts
Prior internship, lab research, or project team experience

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$39,900-$79,900
