Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented DevSecOps Platform Systems Administrator to join our team! As a Systems Administrator , you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, auditing, and maintenance of our hybrid on-premises Kubernetes and AWS infrastructure, including Nutanix virtual environments.
What You'll Be Doing:
System Administration & Operations:
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot on-premises Kubernetes clusters and AWS cloud components.
Provision, configure, and manage virtual machines and resources on Nutanix infrastructure.
Manage user accounts, access controls, and system configurations.
Ensure system uptime, performance, and reliability across hybrid environments.
Auditing & Compliance:
Perform regular system and security audits to ensure compliance with organizational and DoD standards.
Document audit findings and implement remediation actions as needed.
Maintain accurate records of system changes, incidents, and upgrades.
Upgrades & Patch Management:
Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and updates for Kubernetes, AWS components, Nutanix, and supporting tools.
Coordinate with DevSecOps engineers to minimize downtime and ensure compatibility.
Backup & Recovery:
Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery procedures for critical systems and data.
Test recovery processes regularly to ensure readiness.
Collaboration & Documentation:
Work closely with DevSecOps engineers, security teams, and stakeholders to support operational needs.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and changes.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5-7+ years of experience as a system administrator or in a similar IT operations role.
Experience managing Linux-based systems and hybrid cloud environments (on-premises and AWS).
Experience provisioning and managing virtual machines and resources on Nutanix.
Familiarity with Kubernetes administration and AWS management.
Experience performing system audits and implementing security best practices.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab).
Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., RMF, NIST, STIGs).
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
AWS, Nutanix, or Linux administration certification (e.g., AWS SysOps, Nutanix Certified Professional, RHCSA).
Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $196,400.00
