The Opportunity
We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Accountant in our Lake County location.
As the Senior Accountant in the Abbott Nutrition Corporate Financial Services (CFS) Record to Report (RTR team), you will prepare journal entries, account balance reconciliations and other analysis supporting the Nutrition division; serve as liaison between our Shared Service Third Party provider, FP&A and CFS RTR; and drive process improvements. The Senior Accountant will perform accounting related work as well as financial reporting.
What You'll Work On:
Prepare analysis for CFS journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Provide guidance to Shared Service Third Party Accounting colleagues.
Lead multiple quarterly Balance Sheet Review Meetings with the different business area controllers to provide clear analytics, identify underlying drivers, and translate financial results into actionable insights so that the controllers can provide attestation to their balance sheet balances.
Review and approve Third Party Shared Service Accounting journal entries and account balance reconciliations and complete the monthly financial close process.
Review and assist in maintenance of Third Party Shared Services Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Provide on the job training (OJT) as necessary for new Shared Service Third Party activities.
Utilize SAP, Document Direct, Cognos, AMAPS, Maximo and HFM to view documents and account balances, run reports, analyze and utilize data for analytics.
Efficiently complete Microsoft Excel spreadsheets including pivot tables, vlookups, conditional formatting, and analysis of data.
Complete analysis in SAP/SRM of third party service provider accrual and prepaids.
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations based on analysis within Cadency
Participate in the annual tax package preparation for the US-domestic Abbott Nutrition entities.
Complete external and internal audits requests, Sox requests and tax requests like the annual reserve and accrual analysis.
Liaise with FP&A, CFS, and other Americas Hub team members to execute the financial close, provide guidance, and work together to improve processes.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and provide support for SOX and internal audit.
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including in the Corporate Finance Manuals.
Complete External Audit Requests as assigned.
Elevate issues and recommend solutions.
Operate independently within a varied and changing scope of responsibilities under some supervision.
Complete special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. In lieu of a degree, additional years of experience may be considered.
4+ years relevant professional experience required or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required competencies.

The base pay for this position is $78,000.00 – $156,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
